MIND CONTROLLED MILLIE

Mind Controlled Millie is a mixed media interactive sculpture.

When you enter Millie's head, you take on the role of alien invader. Inside Millie is your control panel, containing three key items:
1) A journal, explaining (in alienese) your mission and how to run the machine.
2) A lever, which controls Millie's actual eyes
3) A tablet, which displays a choose-your-own-adventure game, where you see if you have what it takes to take over the world!”

  • The Journal

    The ship journal is titled, “MY PLANS FOR GENERAL EVIL DOING, AND GUESTBOOK” The contents are written entirely in Alienese- a language you may recognize from Futurama. The pages show millie as a civilian through candid style/stalker photos. It also explains how to use rest of the tools on the control panel. Guests in the head are invited to write field notes and messages in the following pages of the book.

  • The Lever

    A unique feature of this sculpture are the puppet-able eyes. The lever in the center of the control panel is fun to toggle side to side, but this attraction is really more for the people outside the head. The shifting eyes really bring the piece to life- and really cement Millie’s look of terror.

  • The Tablet

    Do you have what it takes to take over the world? The tablet displays a choose your own adventure style game- giving you a chance to truly pilot Millie to world domination! The game begins with you gaining control of Millies brain. There are many ways to find success- and many more to fail. The game is built in a PDF form, where internal hyperlinks are used to take you to the next choice. It is honestly a little janky- but its the thought that counts!!

magical stickers

Using target tracking, I was able to make a filter which animates the stickers when you show them on the camera.

The card the stickers are sold on has a QR code that links directly to my filter in instagram! The filter can also be accessed from the filters tab on my instagram page.
